Joined to the suit is the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Dr Kwabena Agyei, Chairman of the NDC.

Suspended for disloyalty

Mr Gyamfi stated that Mr Adams was suspended by the party some time ago for disloyalty and was not reinstated and therefore, lacked the capacity to stand for the position of National Organiser of the party in Saturday’s congress.

But Mr Adams, who is currently the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, has brushed the allegations aside, saying he was still active in his position within the party

When the case was called yesterday Mr Bright Obeng Manu, who represented Mr Gyamfi, said he had just received documents filed by the defendants in opposition and needed time to study them.

Plaintiff lacks capacity

Counsel for the NDC, Mr Victor Kodzoga Adawuda, who held brief for Mr Samuel Codjoe, argued that the plaintiff had no capacity to bring the said action.

The court therefore adjourned the case to today for hearing.
