Long queues herald voting

In the Ashanti Region for instance massive voter turnout is anticipated as anxious voters continue to form large queues at the polling centres.

But, the process is being hampered by challenges including faulty verification machines and late arrival of voting matrials.

At the Bantama Methodist 'A' Polling station, the verification machine broke down after only 13 people had cast their votes.

The presiding officer quickly relayed information to the Electoral Commission (EC) office which brought another one for the process to  continue.

There was also delay in the arrival of election materials at the Salvation Army School at Ashtown.

At Abusuakruwa station in the Suame Constituency, the absence of ink pad delayed the process for about 45 minutes.

Queues started forming at the poling centres from Thursday night.
