No reason has been assigned for the deferment of the event, which was originally scheduled for the National Theatre on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.

The event formed part of activities to render appreciation to God for seeing the party through a successful national delegates’ conference which saw the election of veteran Nana Akufo-Addo as the NPP’s flag bearer for the 2016 elections.

Nana Akufo-Addo, after a meeting with party elders last week, where he introduced Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as his running mate for the third time, announced, “the Party will hold an interdenominational service at the National Theatre, to seek God’s blessings on the Party and on our ticket, and to thank Him for the peace and success of the primary”.

However, a  release signed by Deputy Communications Director, Pius Enam Ahadzie, stated the event had been called off.

The statement said “A new date will be announced in due course”.
