Odike withdraws from presidential race
Mr Kwasi Addai Odike, the presidential nominee of the United Progressive Party's (UPP) for the December 7 Polls, has withdrawn his nomination.
At a media briefing at the Head Office of the Electoral Commission (EC) in Accra, Mr Odike said his decision to withdraw his nomination was a personal matter.
He said the UPP leadership would on Monday, November 14, announce which opposition political party to support at the polls.
Mr Odike was among the 13 presidential, aspirants the EC disqualified on October 10.
The EC, however, attributed his disqualification to a suit at the court brought by a faction of the UPP due to internal party wrangling.
However, after the UPP managed to get their act together, Mr Odike resubmitted his nomination forms on Tuesday, November 8, following the Supreme Court's directive that the EC should give another opportunity to all the disqualified presidential aspirants to correct their errors and resubmit.
