Kotoko sure to beat Hearts in G6 semi-final

Ghana’s version of the Spanish “El Clasico” will be re-enacted at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday as the two arch-rivals in Ghana football, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak, clash in the second semi-final of the ongoing GHALCA G6 tournament.

Defending champions, Kotoko, who seem to be having a smooth ride in this year’s competition, topped their group after beating Bechem United and Wa All Stars by 3-0 and 2-0 margins respectively, while Hearts managed to keep their head above water, courtesy a 2-0 win by Aduana Stars over Medeama SC.

Prior to the Hearts and Kotoko clash on Sunday, Aduana Stars, who also topped their group, will play Bechem United in the other semi-final match.

Winners of the two matches will book their place in what pundits have predicted would be an epic final in the novelty off-season competition.
