The teams in Zone A, comprising hosts UPSA, Ghana Technology University College (GTUC), Ho Polytechnic and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) will engage in a round-robin format in search of a place at the next stage of the UPAC championship.

The zone appears to be a straight fight between joint favourites, UPSA and GIMPA who are expected to meet in the decider to determine who qualifies to the next stage.

However, GIMPA will be out for revenge after UPSA rallied from behind to beat them 25-20 to qualify for the finals of last year’s edition organised by Rite Multimedia.

The hosts, who are experienced campaigners in the UPAC competition, are expected to have an easy ride over GTUC in the first game which starts at 8.00 a.m. while favourites GIMPA will be hoping to send out a strong signal with victory against dark horses Ho Polytechnic in the second game.

The winner of Zone A will wait to do battle with seven other teams for the opportunity to win the ultimate prize of GH¢ 3,000, as well as products from the sponsors, Rexona, CAL Bank and Fan Milk Ghana Limited.
