Multimedia, journalist sued for defamation

The vice president of the World Children Taekwondo Union and chairman of the Greater Accra Taekwondo Association, Norbert Amefu has initiated a GHȻ500,000 defamation law suit against Multimedia Company Limited, operators of Adom FM and sports presenter Kwadwo Mensah, a staff at Adom FM

In a writ of summons, the former national Taekwondo star is asking the court to restrain the defendants from further publishing defamatory and malicious words about him.

The plaintiff claims that on November 24th, 25th and 28th 2015, Kwadwo Mensah alias Mishisho, a host of the morning sports programme on Adom FM made disparaging remarks about his personality during a discussion with other colleagues on the programme.

He is therefore seeking an order for perpetual injunction to restrain the defendants from further publishing the said words or any other words to the like effect of and concerning the plaintiff.

He is also claiming cost of prosecuting the said suit on full indemnity basis.

The case is expected to be heard March 8, 2016.
