Activa Int. Insurance gives to SWAG Awards
Activa International Insurance has presented a cheque for GH¢30,000 to the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) towards the successful organisation of this year’s SWAG Awards scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 3 at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra.
Presenting the cheque to SWAG, the Managing Director of Activa International Insurance, Mr Stephen Kyerematen, said it was an important corporate objective for the Activa Group to engage in corporate Social responsibility activities every year in support of various causes deemed to be of great importance to the different societies and countries in which Activa Group operated its businesses.

Activa Group companies currently operate in Ghana, Cameroun, Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Burkina Faso.
He added that Activa Group continued to support SWAG because it played a very important role in promoting sports in Ghana by unearthing new sporting talents in the country and rewarding sportsmen and women who achieve excellence every year.
“SWAG's efforts are very commendable since the exploits of our top sportsmen and women on the international stage represent a powerful branding tool for our dear country Ghana,” he added.
In addition to the sponsorship package, Activa gave SWAG free Personal Accident Insurance covers with the value of GH¢1million each for the three top award winners this year.
Receiving the cheque, the President of SWAG, Mr Kwabena Yeboah, expressed delight about the marriage between SWAG and Activa International Insurance and assured the company of closer collaboration between the two bodies to provide insurance facilities to the sporting public.
The SWAG team at the ceremony included Maurice Quansah (Vice President), William Ezah (General Secretary), Rosalind Amoh (Treasurer) and Nii Maale-Adsei (Events Co-ordinator), while Activa officials present were Mrs Genevieve Tachie (Regional Chief Finance Officer), Frank Yeboah (Internal Audit), Emmanuel Blankson (Operations Manager, Corporate) and Augustine Addo (Operations Manager, Retail & Agency).
