Dogboe wins WBO Africa Interim title: After outpointing Pappoe

Enterprising boxer, Isaac Dogboe, says he is ready for any challenge after pummelling  Michael Pappoe over 12 rounds in their WBO Africa and Interim WBA PAN African Featherweight championship at the Azumah Nelson sports Complex last Saturday.

Dogboe dominated from start to finish and met no resistance from a bewildered Pappoe.

Dogboe, 21, who turned professional last year has by the victory secured nine wins on his record.

All three judges scored the fight 120-107 in favour of Dogboe in the one -sided bout. Pappoe, the older of the two, has 15 fights to his record with 13 wins and two defeats.

The bout, dubbed Night of the Rising Stars’ was graced by boxing legend Azumah Nelson, among many others.

In an eight round welterweight fight, Samuel Tetteh Antwi made light work of Emmanuel Odartey Lamptey to score a technical knockout in the third round while Sherif Quaye knocked out Jonathan Nii Akrofi in round two of their eight round lightweight contest.

In another eight round welterweight contest, Aziz Quartey overpowered Ezekiel Affelay via a technical knockout in round three Peter Ato Ricketts winning over Mohammed Tagoe in the sixth round.
