Black Queens midfielder Evelyn Badu says the team is fully focused on their crucial second Group D match against Cameroun, leaving past results behind and concentrating on securing a victory.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, she emphasized that every player is prepared to give their all for Ghana, with the immediate objective of reaching the quarterfinals while taking the tournament one game at a time.
Not looking at whatever has already happened and the goal for us is to put ourselves in a good position to go to the quarterfinals. We are just being ready. Nothing else, she said.
Badu also highlighted the pride of representing the senior national team, stressing that the squad's mission is collective success rather than individual recognition, with the ultimate ambition of qualifying for and competing successfully at the FIFA Women's World Cup.
"We are just embracing the moment and taking the opportunities as well. Because we know this is the time for us to get to the World Cup. And each and every one individually as a group. We are just being ready and being on task to take it game by game."
"And tomorrow against Cameroon. We are just going all out and doing whatever we can to make sure we get the win. Or be in a good position to take us to the semi-finals," she added.
