Gawu Gatete back!
Former KIng Faisal and Accra Hearts of Oak forward, Eric Gawu, last Wednesday joined the legion of former foreign-based footballers who have returned to the local scene this season when he made an appearance for Dreams FC in their Division One League clash against Sporting Mirren.
The 32-year-old came on in the second half of the club’s 1-2 loss at the Saint Thomas Aquinas Park and was a constant threat to the Sporting Mirren defence with his pace and dribbling skills.

The striker, who cost Hearts about $60,000 from Faisal in 2006, had earlier on Tuesday scored for Dreams FC in a friendly against Botwe United.
According to Gawu, he jumped at the opportunity to join Dreams FC on a short-term deal because the club is the best platform to relaunch his career.
"I have been back for a while since my stint in Israel but I decided not to waste my talents by sleeping at home," Gawu told the Graphic Sports.
"The game was normal and I was very impressed with some of the youngsters on the pitch. My main aim is to help Dreams qualify for the Premier League and also re-launch my career," he added
Gawu, who was also a victim of derogatory chants about his age, stressed that he was not bothered as even older players than himself were stars in Europe.
"I heard those chants, but it depends on the type of player; I am mentally strong. My age mates are top stars in Europe but in Ghana after 10-years you are retired as an old man. I am a child compared to others in Europe.

"I want to lift my game and return to Europe, I urge my fans to keep praying for me."
