GFA to develop pitches in regional capitals
The Ghana Football Association is liaising with the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) to develop football pitches in all regional capitals in the next four years, Kwesi Nyantakyi, the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has hinted.
He said such international standard pitches would help market the local league and minimise avoidable injuries.

Mr Nyantakyi gave the hint when he paid a day’s working visit to the Volta Region to thank delegates, who renewed his mandate as president of the association for the next four years.
He said the new pitches would have facilities such as water connected to keep them green and charged regional executives of the Regional Football Associations(RFA) to use the pitches to develop the local game when they were constructed.
Mr Nyantakyi also hinted that the association would re-zone the Division One League to facilitate more regional representation.
He said the GFA was also taking initiatives to improve women’s football in the country and called for help from stakeholders.
“We are working on reforms to improve football to make our fans and all stakeholders happy,” Mr Nyantakyi said.
