Ghana keen on winning medals at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games
Ghana is making feverish preparations towards the Glasgow Commonwealth Games by organising series of competitions for the athletes to put them in good shape.

According to Ghana’s chef de mission, Chris Essilfie, the athletes would also be camped for a period of one month as part of the preparations.
Interacting with the media at the British High Commission in Accra. Mr Essilfie said he was satisfied with the state of preparations for the event to be held in Glasgow, Scotland.
“I don’t think we are behind time as far as preparations to the games are concerned, and I am satisfied with our efforts so far.
“We are going to cope with the time, and I believe things will be fine by the time we get to the games,” he said.
The Chargee d’Affaires of the British High Commission, Caron Rohsler,advised fans who wanted to watch the event in Glasgow to apply for visas as soon as they bought tickets.
This, he said, would facilitate their acquisition of visas and reduce any pressure on them .
While the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Prof. Francis Dodoo, expressed the hope that Ghanaian athletes would win laurels for the nation, the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Joseph Yammin, gave the assurance that his ministry would provide adequate funds and logistics for Team Ghana for them to win more laurels for the country.
