He said a key indicator for the selection of the golfers who would be grouped into teams of four each during the tourney was their performance in various competitions and events organised by the Federation including the maiden Ghana Mini Golf League, the Ghana Mini Golf Clubs' League and the monthly Get-Together.

Members of the squad include Solomon Addae, Ibrahim Osunaba, Bright Frimpong, Akwasi Ankrah, Francis Xavier, Morris Ofei, Richard Amoah, Prince Amoah, Maluf Ahmed, Rocky Addo and Peter Obeng.

Mr Fattal said the team who are expected to leave Ghana on September 7, will be financing their trip with their own funds as well as some support from the GMF, predicting that the team will return from Croatia with some medals.

The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide in an address assured the GMF of support for future competitions describing the Federation as a model for partnering government to develop sports.

"We see the GMF as a major stakeholder in the development of sports and we pray and hope to meet you at the airport to receive the trophies when you return".
