Heart of Lions lead penalty awards in 2023/24 Premier League season
KPANDO-BASED Heart of Lions received the highest number of penalty decisions in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, securing 11 penalties, the most among all 18 clubs.
They successfully converted nine of these spot-kicks, missing only two. This performance placed them ahead of Berekum Chelsea, who were awarded 10 penalties, converting eight and missing two.

Dreams FC followed with seven penalty awards, while Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC each received six. Notably, Accra Lions were the only club that did not receive a single penalty throughout the season.
Both Nsoatreman FC and Bechem United were awarded just one penalty each, the lowest in the league.
Ebenezer Abban of Heart of Lions emerged as the top individual penalty scorer, converting nine spot-kicks, the highest by any player in the league. Stephen Amankona of Berekum Chelsea closely followed with eight successful penalty conversions.
Most Clean Sheets
Despite being relegated, Great Olympics' goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare, managed to keep the most Clean Sheets in the season, going 16 matches without conceding a goal. Kofi Baah, the goalkeeper for league champions FC Samartex, contributed significantly to their title win by keeping 14 clean sheets.
Amankona of Berekum Chelsea was the season’s top scorer, finding the back of the net 19 times. He was followed by Steven Mukwala Desse of Asante Kotoko and Agyenim Boateng Mensah of Dreams FC, who each scored 14 goals.
In terms of playing time, Great Olympics' goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare, led the league with 3,258 minutes played. He was closely followed by Ali Mohammed of Accra Lions with 3,211 minutes and Alhassan Ali of Bofoakwa Tano with 3,203 minutes.
