GPL Champions Gold Stars to face Medeama in coronation match on Saturday
Newly crowned champions Gold Stars FC will be officially presented with the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League trophy on Saturday, June 14, 2025, following a ceremonial coronation match against regional rivals Medeama SC at Duns Park in Bibiani.
The Miners made history last Sunday by securing their maiden league title in emphatic fashion, dismantling relegated Accra Lions 4-0 in front of jubilant home fans.
The result capped off a dominant campaign for the Bibiani-based side, who now become the third consecutive club from the Western Region to lift the top-flight trophy.
Saturday’s encounter with Medeama is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 p.m. local time (15:00 GMT).
Following the final whistle, Gold Stars will be formally decorated with medals before being handed the coveted Premier League trophy — the crowning moment of a historic season that has rewritten the football narrative in Bibiani.
A capacity crowd is expected at Duns Park, as fans from Bibiani and beyond gather to witness the culmination of Gold Stars’ remarkable campaign.
