Hearts appoint Odotei as Managing Director

The Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak have appointed Vincent Sowah Odotei as the Acting Managing Director of the club.

Odotei recently returned to the club as chairman of a Strategy Committee set up by the Hearts Board prior to the start of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League season.

He replaces Gerald Ankrah who resigned in January this year after 16 months at post and will now oversee the management of the club.

Odotei is credited with stabilising the fortunes of the league leaders following his decision to appoint Portuguese trainer Sergio Traguil as head coach.

The former Ghana Football Association presidential aspirant was Chief Executive Officer of the club between 2007 and 2010 and it was during his tenure that Hearts won their last Premier League trophy till.

Odotei is the parliamentary nominee of the New Patriotic Party for the La Dadekotopon constituency and will contest that seat in the upcoming General Elections.
