Dauda Mohammed — Kotoko

I didn’t sabotage Kotoko

Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker, Dauda Mohammed has slammed rumours he conspired with the head coach of the Black Satellites, Mas’Ud Didi Dramani to stay away from Kotoko’s Week 12  Premier League encounter against  Bechem United last Wednesday at Bechem.

Dauda was expected to join his teammates in Kumasi  last Tuesday morning by flight from the Black Satellites camp but unfortunately could not make it, making some Kotoko management members, particularly Edmund Ackah to accuse Coach Dramini of sabotaging Kotoko’s  league campaign.

But speaking to the Graphic Sports, the 18-year-old made it clear he did not conspire with the former Kotoko coach to deny the club of his services in their crucial game at Bechem.

He contended that his ability to join his teammates was due to poor organisation on the part of Kotoko management.

“I did not intend to miss the game. I left Prampram at 3:00 a.m. because I was told my flight to Kumasi was at 5:30 a.m, therefore, I did not want to be late and really wanted to play against Bechem,” he stated.

“When I got  to the airport for my check- in, I was told my travelling documents were not adequate and wasn’t appropriately done. I tried to reach the Kotoko management members but their phones were off so I decided to return to the camp to rest because I had not had my sleep the entire night” he explained.

The forward rather praised Didi for his effort in trying to help him get back to Kumasi after he was left stranded at the airport.
