Kotoko were destined to win

Asante Kotoko winger, Eric Donkor, has described last Monday’s epic clash against arch rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak, as a match Kotoko were destined to win.

This, he said, was because of the difficulties and obstacles they had to overcome to get the work done.

He said even in the face of all the machinations, heckling and intimidation by their opponents before the match at the Accra Stadium, he and his teammates did not give up but went ahead to win.

Donkor, told to the Graphic Sports, that even though they knew from the onset that playing against Hearts would be difficult, the victory would serve as a motivation and also boost their confidence for the rest of the battles confronting them.

“We were destined to win this match; we were a man down, our PRO and other officials were shoved and pushed even before the match started, but in the face of all these we never gave up,” he noted.

Donkor called on the Kotoko faithful to continue to have faith in the team because they were also committed to bringing glory to the club.

“The team belongs to you (fans) and so you must continue to support it,” he said, adding that the Ghana Premier League is alive and still abounds in talents.
