Labone Senior High School gets baseball pitch

The government of Japan, through the Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Projects (GCGP) Scheme and with assistance from the Ohayo Ghana Foundation, will today have handed over a newly constructed baseball and a softball field to the Ghana Baseball and Softball Association (GHABSA) at the Labone Senior High School. The ceremony will be graced by Mr Naoto Nikai, the Ambassador of Japan to Ghana, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and La Mantse, Nii Kpobi Tettey Tsuru III.

The facility, was constructed at a cost of $123,453, and is expected to whip up interest and promote baseball among the youth of Ghana and also serve as a training facility for the national team.

An opening game between a Japanese select team and their Ghanaian counterparts will climax the ceremony.
