Liberty overpower Inter Allies

Liberty Professionals on Sunday struggled to beat a depleted Inter Allied side 2-1 at the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park.

Allies, who dropped nine of the winning team that beat Aduana Stars 2-0 last weekend, conceded in the sixth minute when goalkeeper Kingsley Kissi failed to deal with  Cephas Doku’s corner, which sailed into the net.

Coach Herbert Addo justified the changes in a post-match interview claiming that most of them were injured while he rested those who were on yellow cards.

Liberty exploited the weakness  in the Allies midfield and attacked them from all angles with Latif Blessing increasing the tally three minutes later when he out-jumped the visitors’ defence to head a free kick to the far corner of the net. The hosts dominated the entire half, leaving Inter Allies to chase their shadows.

Allies introduced some experienced limbs in the second half and the game tilted to their favour as they mounted pressure on Liberty Professionals until the 58th minute when substitute Frederick Boateng headed a cross to the far corner of the net beating Fatao Alhassan in post for Liberty.
