Lincoln Community School students donate to Kanda Cluster of Schools
Four students of Lincoln Community School at Abelenkpe in Accra have presented football equipment to the Kanda Cluster of Schools at a ceremony in Accra.
The items included footballs, goal post, cones, bibs, captain's armbands, a giant trophy, among others.
Anesu Mugodi, who spoke on behalf of the quarter, during a presentation said they were enjoined by their curriculum to undertake a service project in their final two years of high school.
"My friends -- Lucas, Kabelo, Jeffery, Joe – and I are sports fans and we spent a few months raising funds for this event, which we hope will be of great use for this community and that great players and scholars would come from this community," he said.
The School Improvement Support Officer for Kanda, Alhassan Mohammed Amin, expressed appreciation to the donors for the gesture and promised to put the equipment to good use.
Later, a special match involving Kanda AMA Basic and Kanda 3&5 Basic schools crowned the special presentation ceremony. Kanda AMA won the friendly encounter 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 drawn game in regulation time.
