Medeama SC-Al-Wahda sign partnership deal

MTN FA Cup champions, Medeama SC, have signed a partnership agreement with Saudi Arabian side Al-Wahda to promote a special exchange programme which includes exchange of coaches and business expertise.

The deal, signed at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on October 11, will see the Saudi Arabian club offering practical support for youth coaching, player development and expertise on fitness and medical matters.

It also entails the construction of a stadium and an academy at Dompim, the birth place of Medeama SC, to help in the development of youthful players.

 

Financially, Al Wahda will be supporting Medeama as they compete in Africa’s top elite competition next season even though the exact amount was not stated in the agreement, according to the club’s administrative manager.

Lawyer Amoah Larbi and club president, Mosses Armah, were present as representatives for the Ghanaian side, while Al Wahda were represented by club president Fouad and his entourage.

“I believe this deal will help us prepare very well as we get ready to play in Africa,”  Benjamin Kessie, who is the club’s Administrative Manager, told Graphic Sports after the agreement.

He said Al-Wahda  were also expected to gain from the deal as they would have the advantage of  signing Medeama’s players.

He said the deal, which was subject to renewal   was expected to run till 2019 .

Al-Wahda after completing the agreement have already shown signs of interest in Ghanaian footballers by signing ex-Black Star’s enforcer Derek Boateng, on a six-month loan.
