Mourinho to make Man United debut against Wigan July 16
Jose Mourinho will begin his Manchester United career against Wigan on July 16. The arrival of the Portuguese coach at Old Trafford has been one of the biggest stories of the summer, however life for Manchester United under the Special One starts in the inauspicious surroundings of the DW Stadium.

It was announced on Tuesday afternoon that a friendly between Championship side Wigan and the Red Devils has been arranged for Saturday 16 July. The fixture will be Manchester United’s first match of pre-season, with games also arranged against the more glamorous opponents of Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City and Galatasaray before the season gets under way.

Latics chairman David Sharpe said of the fixture: “This will be Jose Mourinho’s first game in charge as manager of Manchester United and there will be a big focus on the DW Stadium.”
The match will be all-ticket with those wanting to watch Mourinho’s first game in charge of Manchester United able to buy tickets from 9am on Wednesday 6 July.
