‘You’ve made Ghana proud’ — PAG congratulates Black Stars on World Cup feat

The Progressive Alliance of Ghana (PAG) has congratulated the Black Stars on securing qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing the feat as a testament to Ghana’s unity, resilience, and footballing excellence.

In a statement signed by its presidential candidate in the 2024 General Election, Dr John Kpikpi, the party commended the players, technical team, and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for their dedication and teamwork, which he said had inspired hope across the nation.

“The Progressive Alliance of Ghana (PAG) extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Ghana Black Stars on qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This achievement showcases Ghana's footballing excellence, unity, and determination globally,” the statement said.

It added that the qualification represented “national pride, resilience, and the boundless potential of the Ghanaian spirit,” acknowledging the team’s ability to unite and uplift millions of Ghanaians through sport.

Dr Kpikpi expressed the party’s continued support for the Black Stars as they prepare for the tournament, urging them to maintain focus and humility as they represent the nation on the global stage.

“As you prepare for the World Cup, PAG assures you of our unwavering support. Play with humility, focus, and excellence that defines our beloved country. The nation stands solidly behind you,” he stated.

He praised the technical team and the GFA for their role in steering the team to success, describing their contribution as an inspiration to all Ghanaians.

“Congratulations, Black Stars! You've made Ghana proud! Onward to victory! Go, Black Stars! Go Ghana!” the statement concluded.

The Black Stars’ qualification has sparked celebrations nationwide, marking Ghana’s fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup and renewing hopes of a strong showing at the 2026 tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
