Samsung Acquires Xealth to advance connected care and preventative health monitoring
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced the acquisition of Xealth, a leading healthcare integration platform, in a strategic move aimed at bridging the gap between personal wellness and professional medical care.
The agreement, signed last week, marks a significant step in Samsung’s transformation into a connected care platform that delivers a seamless and holistic approach to preventative healthcare.
The acquisition, announced on July 14, 2025, seeks to unify fragmented health information and empower individuals to better manage their health by integrating wellness data from personal devices with clinical records. “Often, customer health data measured on wellness tools, which keep track of one’s wellness journey every day, and clinical records at hospitals are managed separately, leading to missed insights and delayed care,” Samsung explained.
By combining Samsung’s innovative wearable technologies with Xealth’s robust digital health platform, the tech giant plans to establish a continuous link between home health monitoring and clinical decision-making. This synergy is expected to enhance real-time patient monitoring, improve healthcare delivery, and place the provider-patient relationship at the centre of digital care.
“Samsung aims to improve the health of everyone through our extensive platform combining Samsung's innovative technologies and open collaboration with industry leaders,” said TM Roh, President and Acting Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics. “We believe the acquisition of Xealth, with its accumulated expertise and extensive healthcare network, will be an anchor to accelerate Samsung’s efforts to support health systems and digital health partners through a truly connected care.”
Xealth, originally developed within the Providence health system in the United States, consolidates multiple digital health solutions into a single platform, offering healthcare providers a comprehensive view of their patients. The platform enables smarter clinical decisions by integrating data from wearable devices and digital health solutions into existing hospital systems.
The company currently works with more than 500 U.S. hospitals, including major institutions such as Advocate Health and Banner Health, and has partnerships with over 70 digital health solution providers. These partners are expected to benefit from the acquisition by gaining access to Samsung’s global device ecosystem and enhanced connectivity.
Mike McSherry, CEO of Xealth, expressed optimism about the acquisition. “We are excited to join forces with Samsung. Xealth and Samsung share a common goal to advance the digital health space for truly connected care. Customer health data from wearables can fill in context that is missing to hospitals and bring more data analysis possibilities that were not available just with clinical records,” he said. “Together with Samsung and our network of healthcare leaders, we will design a bridge between home health monitoring and clinical decision-making, with provider workflow considerations and patient engagement at the core of that effort.”
Samsung has consistently invested in wearable sensor technology and home-device integration, with the aim of supporting hyper-personalised, preventative healthcare. The company’s acquisition of Xealth will further its ambition to make digital health tools accessible to all and connect care across personal and clinical environments.
The transaction is subject to the usual regulatory approvals and is expected to be finalised before the end of 2025. Once completed, the partnership promises to redefine digital health delivery and improve patient outcomes worldwide.
