Afro-Arab boss wins Entrepreneur of the Year award

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Afro-Arab Group of Companies, Alhaji Salamu Amadu last Saturday won the Most Promising Entrepreneur of the Year award at the 2016 West African Regional Magazine Achievers Awards.

The prestigious awards which recognizes businesses who are bridging the divide between ECOWAS nations was held at the Tang Palace Hotel on the theme "Removing Trade Barriers Among Countries in West Africa".

Alhaji Amadu was presented with crystal trophy and a citation in the company of his close friend His Royal Highness Prince Ebrahim of Gambia.

The CEO of the Afro-Arab Group of Companies, Alhaji Salamu Amadu with Miss Universe Ghana 2011, Yayra Nego.

The citation read, "This is in consideration of your entrepreneurial vision and spirit which led to the creation of the Afro-Arab Group of Companies, a group with nine subsidiaries that has impacted on the socio-economic development of Ghana."

A subsidiary of the Alhaji Amadu's Afro-Arab Group of Companies Afro-Arab Group of Companies - Afro-Arab Microfinance was also named the Micro-finance Company of the Year at the awards.

In an interview after the awards, Alhaji Amadu said he was delighted to have picked-up two awards although his main aim of setting up his business was to create jobs for Ghanaian youth.

He added that, the awards will spur him on to expand his business to more countries in Africa.
