Informa Markets, a global exhibitions organiser and convenor of the World Health Expo, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Egypt’s Unified Procurement Authority and Global Conference Management to strengthen and expand Africa Health ExCon, one of Africa’s leading healthcare exhibitions and conferences.
The agreement positions Informa Markets as a strategic partner in the continued growth and globalisation of Africa Health ExCon, which has been held annually in Egypt since 2022 and has steadily gained prominence as a platform for healthcare policy, procurement, manufacturing and innovation on the continent.
Under the partnership, Informa Markets will support the international expansion of the event, leveraging its global networks and experience in large-scale health exhibitions to increase participation from international manufacturers, investors, policymakers and health system leaders ahead of the 2026 edition.
Peter Hall, President for Middle East, India, Türkiye and Africa at Informa Markets, said the collaboration aligns with the company’s mission to strengthen collaboration within the global healthcare industry. “This partnership reflects the core mission of Informa Markets – to build bridges and strengthen collaboration in the healthcare industry. Working with UPA and GCM to co-organise Africa Health ExCon in 2026 allows us to expand its reach and impact. It also enables us to support a country that is now a regional hub for procurement, manufacturing and health-system excellence.”
Egypt’s Unified Procurement Authority described the agreement as a strategic step towards positioning the country as a continental and global reference point in healthcare delivery and innovation. The authority plays a central role in coordinating public health procurement and strengthening supply chains within Egypt’s health sector.
Dr Hisham Stait, Chairman of Egypt’s Unified Procurement Authority, said the partnership would enhance the event’s international appeal and profile. “Partnering with Informa Markets allows us to attract international manufacturers, investors, and policymakers. We see Informa Markets as a strategic partner that will bring the expertise, networks and global visibility needed to amplify Africa Health ExCon, elevate its impact, and allow us to showcase Egypt’s progress on a global stage.”
Informa Markets, the Unified Procurement Authority and Global Conference Management said the collaboration would combine their respective strengths in exhibitions, procurement leadership and conference delivery to reinforce Africa Health ExCon as a premier platform for healthcare innovation, investment and partnerships across Africa and beyond.
