Award-winning Ghanaian musician Fancy Gadam has teamed up with Nigerian Afrobeats star Rudeboy on a new single, I Don’t Need You, in a collaboration that brings together two prominent voices from Ghana and Nigeria.
Released on July 19, 2026, the song combines Fancy Gadam’s energetic style with Rudeboy’s soulful vocals, creating an Afropop record that draws from the musical traditions of both countries.
The collaboration is accompanied by a music video directed by Nigerian filmmaker Adasa Cookey, known for his work with leading African artistes.
Cookey brings a cinematic approach to the visual, using polished production, stylised scenes and narrative elements to complement the mood and energy of the song.
For Fancy Gadam, the release represents another step in his continued push beyond Ghana’s borders through collaborations with artistes from across Africa.
Born Mujahid Ahmed Bello, the Tamale-based musician has established himself as one of Ghana’s notable Afropop artistes while playing a significant role in bringing Northern Ghanaian music to a wider audience.
His catalogue includes collaborations with artistes such as Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Patoranking, Mr Eazi, Shatta Wale and Kuami Eugene, among others.
Rudeboy, meanwhile, brings considerable experience to the collaboration, having first achieved international prominence as one half of the Nigerian music duo P-Square alongside his twin brother, Peter Okoye.
Following the duo’s split, Rudeboy has continued to build a successful solo career, releasing music that has maintained his presence within the African pop music scene.
With I Don’t Need You, the two artistes combine their distinct musical identities in a Ghana-Nigeria collaboration that further reflects the growing cross-border exchange within African popular music.
The single is available on major streaming platforms, with its official music video also available on YouTube.
