Kweku Smoke and friends for MoMoFest 2026

MUSICIAN Kweku Smoke and his friends are set to light up the MoMoFest x Revival Concert, taking over the Mixed Park in Berekum in the Bono Region.

The free-admission show closes out the two-day MoMoFest 2026 organised by MobileMoney Fintech LTD (MMFL) from tomorrow, September 4--6.

MoMoFest 2016 comes back bigger, blending music, culture, commerce and community engagement into one weekend-long celebration.

Speaking on the initiative, the Head of Marketing at MMFL, Alfred Dowuona-Hammond, said MoMoFest sought to help customers “Do More with MoMo”, with a series of activities designed to promote the adoption of the MoMo App, cashless payments, merchant transactions and safer digital financial practices.

“The Berekum activation will combine entertainment with practical customer experiences, including a cashless market, GH¢100 MoMo Shop and Mega Rewards, MoMo Keteke Gameshow and community activities.

“The activation will climax with the MoMoFest x Revival Concert, featuring Kweku Smoke and his friends, alongside interactive games, a children’s corner and other family-friendly activities.

“Through the cashless market, patrons will be able to purchase food, drinks, beauty products, fashion items, home essentials, phones and accessories using MoMo.

“Also, customers will also have the opportunity to shop for selected items at GH¢100, pay with MoMo and stand the chance of winning hourly mega rewards”, he explained.

That is not all, the MoMo Keteke Gameshow will add another layer of entertainment, with participants answering questions and taking part in challenges for the chance to win up to GH¢10,000.

Other activities lined up include a football gala, a community clean-up exercise and a Guinness Smooth English Premier League viewing party.

Mr Dowuona-Hammond said the festival was intended to make digital financial services practical and accessible while encouraging customers to use MoMo safely.

“Our goal is simple: to help every customer do more with MoMo, and do it safely. MoMoFest gives us a direct and engaging way to show customers how MoMo can support everyday payments, business transactions and access to more financial services, while helping them stay alert and protected.

“Fraud awareness will also form a key part of the Berekum activation, with a drama presentation expected to educate customers on common fraud tactics, PIN protection, transaction verification and the appropriate channels for reporting suspicious activities”, he added.

MoMoFest 2026 will extend its engagement to other major music and cultural platforms, including Asogli Festival, ShattaFest, Rapperholic and Made in Tadi.

The continued presence at major entertainment and cultural events builds on MMFL’s strategy of using popular public platforms to engage customers beyond conventional financial-service communication.

The Berekum activation forms part of a three-week customer engagement programme designed to move customers from awareness to confident use of the MoMo App and other digital financial services.

The 2026 edition of MoMoFest is supported by Ecobank Ghana PLC, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, Ayo Ghana and MTN Business.
