Police arrest 7 suspects over highway robbery involving Council of State Member

Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on Thursday [January 29, 2026] the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor explained that the arrest followed an intelligence-led operation.
“The Police have arrested seven suspects in a highway robbery incident involving a Council of State member, which occurred sometime last year,” she said.
