The Ministry of Health has given newly posted doctors who are yet to report to their duty stations until Friday, December 12, 2025, to do so.

In a statement issued on Wednesday [December 3, 2025], the ministry said more than 6,000 newly recruited nurses whose salaries were in arrears have since been paid.

The payments, the ministry said cover the entire group of 13,500 nurses recruited across the country. 

Ghana’s inflation rate fell to 6.3 per cent in November 2025, the lowest recorded since the 2021 rebasing of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), deepening the country’s disinflationary trajectory as it marked eleven consecutive months of sustained decline.

The study, which assessed the government's performance in the mining, petroleum, climate change and energy transition, environment, and anti-corruption sectors, found that the government had scored an average of 28.6 per cent of its overall commitments in all areas, except anti-corruption, where it scored 23 per cent, which fell below the required 25 per cent yearly threshold.

Parliament has approved the sum of GH₵22.80 billion for the operations of the Ministry of Health for the year ending December 31, 2026.

Out of the allocation, GH₵16.25 billion, representing 71.25 per cent, is allocated for the compensation of employees, GH₵4.51 billion, representing 19.79 per cent, for goods and services, and GH₵2.04 billion, representing 8.96 per cent, for capital expenditure.  

In terms of funding sources, the government of Ghana remains the ministry’s major source of funding, contributing 71.40 per cent of the total allocation.

Effective January 1, 2026, consumers of both electricity and water will experience increases in tariffs.
