We will reinforce values of Methodism in our schools - MEU

The Manager of the Central Regional Methodist Education Unit, Mrs Perpetual praise Amegashie says the Methodist church would reinforce its commitment to instilling Methodism and excellence in students in its schools.

She said the level of discipline that came with the tenets of Methodism helped students who passed through the schools to build a solid foundation for life.

Ms Amegashie said the Methodist church while renewing its commitment to supporting its schools, would also recommit to instilling tenets of excellence in its students.

She said this when she presented a cheque of GH¢1,500 in support of renovation works at the Bakatsir Methodist Junior High School in Cape Coast last Thursday, October 25.

The support was from the Cape Coast Diocese of the Methodist Church to the school in support of renovation works.

Ms Amegashie said the Methodist church, and in particular, the Cape Coast diocese would support all Methodist schools to ensure they teach and learn in a conducive environment.

She said the church would also support its schools to turn them into centres of excellence.

“The Methodist Education Unit will soon visit all schools in the region to acquaint ourselves with the state of our schools and the challenges they face and help address them,” she stated.

The headmistress of the school, Madam Joana Yalley thanked the church for its continuous support.

She said the school had produced very prominent people in the metropolis who were contributing significantly to the development of the nation.

She particularly commended the old students of the school for initiating the renovation project and called on other philanthropists to support the school.
