Suspected robbers kill son of Professor Albert Adu Boahen in Accra
Suspected robbers are reported to have attacked and killed a son of the late Ghanaian celebrated historian, Professor Albert Adu Boahen.
The incident happened on Sunday (March 17, 2024) in Accra.
The deceased, identified as Christopher Adu Boahen, a physically challenged person, is said to have been attacked at his home in East Legon, a suburb of Accra.
Accra-based Asaase Radio which first reported the incident said the suspected robbers also ransacked Christopher's home after taking his life.
Christopher's father, a history professor, was the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate in 1992., the first elections held after Ghana’s return to democracy under the Fourth Republic.

The police in a statement dated March 19, 2024, said investigators picked a suspect, Mark Forson on Tuesday [March 19, 2024], following a complaint lodged by the deceased's family.
"On 17th March 2024, the police received a complaint from some relations of the deceased that he had been found dead in his room under suspicious circumstances.
"A team of police investigators and crime scene experts immediately visited the scene to commence investigation leading to the arrest of the suspect.
"The suspect is in custody and will be put before the court while investigation continues," the police statement indicated.
