Bench warrant for East Mamprusi DCE
The District Magistrate Court in Nalerigu in the East Mamprusi District in the Northern Region yesterday issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Mr Imoro Adams, for failing to pay the social security contributions of workers of the assembly and those of the Gambaga College of Education.

Mr Adams is the Board Chairman of the college.
The warrant was issued by the court, presided over by Mr Robert Agbleze, following the failure of the DCE to appear before the court on three separate occasions when the case was called.
Mr Adams was hauled before the court by the Tamale Area Office of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) after he had refused to pay heed to several reminders by SSNIT to pay the social security contributions of workers.
Bench warrants
The same court issued bench warrants for the arrest of the proprietor of the Vision Preparatory School, Konlan; the Managing Director of Shisha Guest House, Victoria Kumda, and the Proprietor of White Flower Academy, Nawang Soapaak.
The schools and the guest house are in the East Mamprusi District.
Briefing the Daily Graphic, the prosecutor at the Tamale Area Office of SSNIT, Mr Ireneus Wedjong, said the DCE failed to pay the social security contributions of workers of the assembly from January to October 2014, totalling GH¢3,715, and workers of the Gambaga College of Education from December 2013 to September 2014, amounting to GH¢1,184.70.
He said SSNIT instituted the court action after Mr Adams had refused to respond to several reminders sent to him to pay the social security contributions of workers of the two organisations.
Remand
In a related development, the Tamale Magistrate Court has remanded in prison custody the Managing Director of Good Life Construction and Investors, Mohammed Hamza, for refusing to pay the social security contributions of his workers, totaling GH¢3,123.33.
The court also issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the Proprietor of Strategic Senior High School in Tamale, Mr Benjamin Laryea Linth, for the non-submission of social security contributions report on workers.
