Books of condolence opened for murdered CPP stalwart

Books of Condolence have been opened for the late Mr. Hayford Akrofi, a leading member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) who was shot and killed early Monday morning.

Mr. Hayford Akrofi, an architect and staunch member of the CPP was murdered in cold blood at his residence in Ofankor by armed men.

The CPP has opened a Book of Condolence at its headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra, open to the public from 8:00am to 5pm each day.

Another Book of Condolence provided by the immediate and extended family is available at the former Chester’s Lounge at the Nyaniba Estates, near Katawodieso Park, Osu for well-wishers and sympathisers.

Mr. Akrofi who died at the age of 64, hailed from Tutu-Akwapim in the Eastern Region and was survived by a wife and three children. The deceased until his death had been living with his family in the United Kingdom before he returned to Ghana recently.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has begun investigations to track down the murderers and bring them to book.
