Bukom Banku victims to withdraw case

Families of the women assaulted by Braimah Kamoko, alias Bukom Banku have told an Accra Magistrate Court of the willingness of both families to settle the matter at home.

Eunice Lamptey, one of the women who was assaulted by Bukom Banku told the court, presided over by Mr James Kojo Bota, that both parties wanted to settle the matter at home.

The court, however, demanded for the presence of the prosecutor before any further action was taken.

The case was subsequently adjourned to May 5, 2016.

When the case was called on April 21, 2016, the prosecutor in charge of the case, Sergeant Lois Konadu, and Nana Densu Dodoo (Charlotte), the second complainant, were absent.

Facts of the case

The facts regarding the case presented by the prosecutor on March 23, 2016, were that on March 9, 2016 at 4.30 p.m., Charlotte and Eunice were sitting in front of their room chatting, when Bukom Banku and his girlfriend came and stood opposite them fondling each other.

Without provocation, Bukom Banku started insulting Charlotte, saying that his girlfriend had nicer breasts than her.

No one uttered a word until Bukom Banku insulted Charlotte’s mother who was not at the scene.

Charlotte told Bukom Banku not to insult her mother. Bukom Banku became annoyed and assaulted her.

Eunice who attempted to rescue Charlotte was also assaulted.

As a result, Eunice and Charlotte both sustained injuries on their bodies.
