2 Timber guards killed, vehicle burnt in violent attack at Mpamso Forest

The Bono Regional Police Command is investigating the killing of two timber concession guards and the burning of a vehicle at the Mpamso Forest near Nsuhia in the Dormaa Municipality of the Bono Region.

The deceased, who were attacked by suspected illegal chainsaw operators, were Sani Aliyu, 34 and Ibrahim Musa, 35, both security guards at the ADRAS timber concession.

A statement signed by the Bono Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, said efforts were underway to arrest the perpetrators. 

Attack

The statement said, on October 26, 2025, a 41-year-old Ibrahim Issah, who is also a security guard at the ADRAS timber concession company, reported to the police that a group of people numbering about 200 and suspected to be illegal chainsaw operators attacked them at the concession site with guns and machetes.

It said that upon receiving the information, the police proceeded to the timber concession and found two dead bodies lying approximately 100 metres apart in a supine position.

The statement said that when the police examined the bodies, they found multiple gunshot wounds.

A Toyota pickup with registration number GT 3079-17, which was burnt beyond repair, was also discovered.

The statement added that the bodies were retrieved and taken to the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

The statement urged the public to desist from such violent acts and to resolve issues through legitimate channels.
