Be proactive in revenue mobilisation - Customs personnel urged

The Sector Commander of the Dambai Collection, Assistant Commissioner Veronica Abra Deh, has urged personnel of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to be vigilant, proactive, and collaborative in sealing leakages while facilitating legitimate trade.

“Our mandate is to protect the borders and grow revenue for national development. We can only do that when we work as one united front, guided by discipline and purpose,” she stated.

Mrs Deh was addressing personnel during a familiarisation tour of the stations in the Dambai Collection area.

The tour of the stations formed part of her engagement with officers and stakeholders across key operational posts.

Since assuming office, AC Deh has visited Tinjase, Menuso, Nkwanta, and the DVLA office in Jasikan as part of her initial round of visits.

At each location, she held open interactions with officers and border stakeholders to understand on-the-ground operations, challenges, and opportunities.

Core values

Mrs Deh emphasised the core values that must drive Customs work such as professionalism, integrity, and discipline.

She reminded the personnel that public trust was earned through consistent ethical conduct and efficient service delivery.

She also urged the personnel to place strong focus on revenue mobilisation to enable the state meet its revenue targets.

Mrs Deh said she was seeking to build a cohesive and high-performing team.

The personnel expressed appreciation for the Sector Commander’s hands-on approach and open-door leadership style.

Stakeholders at the various posts also expressed appreciation for the engagement and pledged their support to work closely with the Customs Division.
