Dagbon delegation calls on Education Minister - Ya-Naa sends goodwill message
A delegation of traditional leaders from the Dagbon Kingdom has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, following his recent accident.
The delegation, sent at the instance of the Overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Naa Abubakari II, visited the minister at his residence today (Monday) to inquire about his health and recovery.
The visit highlighted the enduring cultural values of compassion, unity and leadership within the Dagbon Kingdom, as well as the important role of traditional authorities in promoting social cohesion and national solidarity.
Message from Ya-Naa
The Paramount Chief of Zangbalun, Naa Dr Yakubu Mahama, who led the delegation, delivered a goodwill message on behalf of the Ya-Naa.
The message conveyed the overlord’s deep concern for the minister’s well-being and acknowledged his critical role in Ghana’s national development, particularly within the education sector.
According to the statement, the Ya-Naa urged the minister to prioritise his health, stressing that his leadership remained vital to the country’s progress.
The Overlord also expressed gratitude to God for sparing the minister’s life and offered prayers for his full recovery and continued protection.

Responding to the gesture, Mr Iddrisu, who is also the Member of Parliament for Tamale South, expressed profound appreciation to the Ya-Naa and the delegation.
He described the visit as a powerful demonstration of empathy and goodwill during his recovery.
