GCB Bank funds UG Hospital Paediatric Unit construction

Indigenous bank, GCB Bank PLC, has cut the sod for the construction of a paediatric unit for the University of Ghana Hospital.

The facility is expected to enhance the hospital’s capacity to deliver quality health care to children and their families.

The project, to be fully financed  by GCB Bank PLC, is expected to be completed in 14 months and will provide a facility with the best international standard.

The Managing Director of GCB Bank PLC, Kofi Adomakoh, who cut the sod, explained that the facility would provide comprehensive paediatric care and reduce child mortality rates.

He described the project as a transformative step towards improving health care for vulnerable groups.

The sod-cutting ceremony took place last Monday on the premises of the University of Ghana Hospital, near the Police Station.

Also present at the ceremony was the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, the leadership of the Health Services Directorate of the university, as well as some staff of the hospital and GCB Bank.

"This project is a demonstration of our commitment to the health and well-being of the younger generation as part of our corporate social responsibility," Mr Adomakoh added.
