GOIL supports borehole project at Boso STHS

Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) has presented a cheque for GH¢10,000 towards the construction of a borehole for the Boso Senior High Technical School (STHS) in the Eastern Region.

The donation was in fulfilment of a pledge made by the oil marketing company to help construct a water facility for the school.

Students of the school have been encountering severe water shortages with media reports indicating that some of them were unable to take their bath before morning lessons.

The only available water source students depend on is an old borehole, which is about a kilometre away from the school.

Boso STHS has a student population of 900 with about 60 per cent of them in the boarding house.

GOIL happy

The presentation of the cheque was made by GOIL’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Madam Rosemond Awotwi Frempong, together with the Personnel Manager, Ing Dr Belinda Boadi, on behalf of the company.

Madam Frempong said the company was happy to be associated with the school.

She promised that the company would continue in its effort to improve the lives of the citizenry by supporting projects that touched lives.

The Headmistress of the school, Madam Jennifer Kpodo-Gbesemete, assisted by some board members of the school and the District Director of Education, Madam Mavis Oparebea Yirenkyi, received the cheque on behalf of the school.

Mrs Kpodo-Gbesemete expressed gratitude to GOIL for the gesture.

She promised to execute the project soon to alleviate the suffering of the students.
