Otumfuo Charity Fund assists three institutions
Lady Julia Osei Tutu, wife of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has presented items worth over Gh₵10,200 to three educational institutions in the Ashanti Region.

The Midwifery and Health Assistant Training School had a 1000 litre Polytank, while the School for the Deaf and the Garden City Special School each received bags of rice, sugar, tins of Milo, Nido, cooking oil, tomato paste, toilet rolls and writing desks.
Lady Julia, who is the patron for the Otumfuo Charity Fund and the Serwaa Ampem Foundation for Children, said both NGOs believed in supporting the development of people.
Commendation
She commended staff and management of the three institutions for their dedication and commitment towards the training of people to add value to their lives and pledged support towards their daily activities.
She appealed to students in the schools to take their studies seriously to enable the nation to benefit from their training.
On behalf of the two NGOs, Lady Julia presented Gh¢5000 to the Ashanti School for the deaf.
Midwifery School
The Principal of the Midwifery and Health Assistant Training School, Mrs Lydia Yamoah, commended Lady Julia for the donation of the water reservoir to the school, saying water shortage was a major challenge facing the school.
She appealed to all well-meaning Ghanaians to come to the aid of the school to procure a 100 KVA generator to enhance teaching and learning since the power outages was having a negative impact on academic work.

School for the Deaf
The Headmaster of the Ashanti School for the Deaf, Mr Emmanuel Ofosu Boakye, in his welcome address, said the school, which started in 1970, had 600 deaf and blind students.
He said for two years, the school had not received its administrative grants and this, according to him, was having a great toll on the operations of the school.
Mr Boakye ,therefore, appealed to the government to, as a matter of urgency, release the administrative grants to the school to enhance its operations
