The maiden edition of the National Sanitation Day marked last Saturday received an encouraging response from a cross section of society throughout the country, particularly in the national capital, Accra, and the regional capitals.
However, in some of the suburbs, there was clear apathy as some residents went about their activities, oblivious of the exercise while some claimed that they were unaware that a day had been designated for a national clean up.
