In a statement issued on Thursday, September 5, 2024, the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Fiifi Bentum Arhin rejected claims that the Head of the VVIP Unit, or any representative, was acting on its behalf in matters related to the disputed land.

“The Office of the President does NOT have any interest whatsoever in the piece of land in question,” the statement declared, stressing that no directives were given to any officer or agent to interfere in the situation.

In response to the allegations, the presidency has formally lodged a complaint with the Inspector General of Police (IGP), calling for a comprehensive investigation to ensure clarity and justice.

The Office also urged the public to dismiss any claims linking it to the land dispute, emphasizing that the allegations were false and unfounded.

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa had alleged that the property in question was being threatened by "state capture".
