Joy, freebies and memories: At The Mirror Mother’s Day celebration
“It’s been a wonderful experience. I actually saw the advert in the Daily Graphic and I decided to come and give my mom a treat. We’ve really enjoyed it.
Today, we didn’t want to eat home food; we are tired, so we came to change our taste. Good food, good music, great ambience, it’s been great, well done.”
“In fact, today has been great, celebrating women, it’s really worth it. Women are the backbone of all families as well as the nation. Celebrating women today has lifted our spirits, and in fact, we are relieved of a lot of stress today.
I am happy, and we are grateful to The Mirror for setting this day aside to celebrate us, women.”
“Indeed, it was a special programme. The climax for me was the goodies; they were quite a lot, and I think it was encouraging. Our mothers were happy, and we are proud to be a part of this engagement. We look forward to more engagements like these.”
These were some of the reactions from guests who attended The Mirror Mother’s Day Buffet Lunch held at Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra last Sunday.
The event, sponsored by Ecobank Ghana, Japan Motors Trading Company Limited, GB Foods Ghana, GC Brand, Everpack Ghana Limited, Madar Group Limited and Woodin, exceeded expectations as guests departed not only with multiple goodie bags but also with cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
Organised to honour mothers and mother figures for their selfless contributions to society, the occasion achieved its purpose and even more, leaving participants feeling appreciated, celebrated and refreshed.
Upon arrival, guests who attended in groups or with their families took advantage of the beautifully arranged foyer to capture memorable photographs before being ushered into the main hall.
True to the occasion, the mothers arrived elegantly dressed in colourful outfits, complemented by stylish accessories, as they happily posed for the cameras and embraced the celebratory atmosphere.
As guests sipped on refreshing fruit juices and enjoyed soothing music, excitement in the hall grew steadily when representatives from GB Foods Ghana moved around distributing samples of their latest products to attendees.
Delivering the welcome address, the Editor of The Mirror, Doreen Hammond, explained that the event had been organised to honour and celebrate remarkable women whose love, sacrifice and strength continued to shape families and society.
The celebration then moved into full swing when renowned keyboardist, singer and composer Alfred Patrick Addaquay took to the stage with a captivating performance that left the audience thrilled and deeply entertained.

When the buffet stations were finally opened, guests were treated to an impressive spread of meals and accompaniments specially prepared for the celebration.
The distribution of the goodie bags from sponsors proved to be the icing on the cake, as many mothers expressed appreciation for the thoughtful gifts, which made them feel truly valued and celebrated.
Enjoy these memorable moments captured from the event.
