Some parents and guardians have stormed the Accra Girls Senior High School after six students reportedly contracted the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Police officers have been deployed at the entrance of the school to manage the situation.
The parents some of whom are seen visibly agitated in an amateur video insist on removing their wards from the school after unconfirmed reports of COVID-19 infections went viral yesterday.

Some of the parents said they will not depart from the entrance of the school until they are addressed by the Headmistress on the developments in the school.
Meanwhile, classroom activities have ground to a halt at the school.
COVID-19 fears
The fears of the parents stem from reports by multiple news outlets Sunday that some students of the school showed symptoms of COVID-19 and were isolated in the school’s sickbay on Monday, June 29, 2020.
According to the stories, health officials from the Ayawaso North Health directorate were called in to deal with the matter.
COVID-19 tests were subsequently run on 11 students. Six of them tested positive and were on Saturday, July 4, sent to the Ga East Municipal Hospital for treatment.
