He said the Zoomlion team would fumigate dormitories, classrooms, laboratories, offices, staff bungalows, drains, mattresses, chop boxes and other facilities in the various schools.
Mr Addae said the exercise would be extended to other schools nationwide, adding that the goal of Zoomlion “is to help the government create a conducive atmosphere for students to learn.”
Students’ gratitude
Some students from the beneficiary schools expressed their joy for the fumigation exercise.
They lamented the daily distractions by bedbugs, making it difficult for them to learn.
The Headmaster of the Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS), Koforidua in the Eastern Region, Very Rev. Abraham Osei Donkor, expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Education and Zoomlion for the exercise.
He said the fumigation exercise was timely, especially as students were about to start serious academic work, and as such there was the need to ensure that anything that disrupted smooth academic work was eradicated.
