CPP embarks on rebranding ahead of 2028 elections
The Convention People’s Party (CPP) is set to reorganise and rebrand to put the party on the path to recapturing political power ahead of the 2028 general election.
This follows the conclusion of a nationwide rebuilding and fact-finding mission exercise in all 16 regions of the country.
Excercise
The exercise was to find out from the regions the reasons accounting for the abysmal performance of the CPP over the years, what could be done to rectify that and how the grassroots of the party wants it to be run.
Organised by the Office of the Reorgnisational Committee, chaired by Moses Yirimambo Ambing, the team started from the Savannah Region and ended in the Greater Accra Region last Wednesday.
Other team members included the National Director of Elections, Habib Yakubu; the National Director of Communications, Osei Kofi Acquah and a representative of the CPP UK, David Nii Adjie.
Meetings
A statement issued by the party's National Director of Communications, Mr Acquah, said the team invited each party member to the meeting during the visit to express their opinion and make suggestions for the forward march of the CPP.
It said the interesting part of the mission was the meeting with the founding fathers of the CPP from both the first and the third Republic to hear their concerns and learn how they could reorganise the party to achieve electoral victories.
It said the rebuilding and fact-finding mission team must present a detailed report on their findings to the party's leadership.
It added that the report is expected to be the roadmap to the reorganisation and rebranding of the party.
