Mr Kukubor who picked up nomination forms over the weekend told Graphiconline that his decision to contest was “a call to serve the people” as summarised by his slogan “Building People, Changing Lives”.

His main aim, he said, was to bring development and progress to impoverished communities within the Keta Constituency, saying “GAMESU na ŋgɔɣiɣi,” to wit: it is a time for progress.

He said it had taken him 10 years to join the race having shelved his parliamentary dreams from 2004 when he first cultivated the idea.

That, he said, was because he was hoping that the political leadership of the constituency will transform the lives of the people but that for him, had not happened.

Kofi Kukubor is Governance and Policy Analyst, a Consultant in International Trade, Private Business Advocate, Capacity Builder and Trainer with over 20 years experience.

He has a wide working experience in the public and private sector and academia.

An innovator

He is an innovator who believes that “existing and acceptable standards, performances and practices can always be improved or enhanced with abstract thinking, innovation, and creativity.”

Until recently, he lectured in Business Policy Formulation and was a Coordinator for Corporate and Business Development Studies of the Faculty of Business Administration, Pentecost University.

Kofi left academia to set up his own business where he currently consults for corporate and small businesses.

As a politician, Kofi says he believes in moulding young minds to be better than their preceding generation.

The Regional Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) concept of the NDC was his initiative which has unearthed talents in tertiary institutions some of whom have assumed leadership positions in both the NDC and government.

He has many years of experience in elections issues and is, currently, a member of the NDC Election Committee at the national level.
